The downstream oxygen sensor sits after the catalytic converter, checking that emissions treatment is working correctly and reporting back to the ECU for monitoring purposes.

Built to fit the BMW G82 M4's S58 twin-turbo I6 exhaust system, it installs directly into the factory downstream sensor location.

A worn downstream sensor commonly triggers catalyst-efficiency codes even when the converter itself is fine — replacing it clears these false alarms and keeps your emissions monitoring accurate.
