The engine coolant temperature sensor reports coolant temperature to the ECU, information used for fuel mapping, cooling fan control, and warm-up enrichment on the S55 engine.

This sensor is built to fit the BMW F82 M4's S55 twin-turbo I6 cooling system at the factory sensor port.

A faulty coolant temp sensor can cause poor cold starts, incorrect temperature gauge readings, or fans running when they shouldn't — replacing it restores accurate thermal management.
