The engine coolant temperature sensor reports temperature to the ECU, which uses it for fuel mixture, cooling fan control, and the dash gauge. A failed sensor can cause poor cold starts or an inaccurate gauge.

This sensor fits the E46 330i's 3.0L I6 M54 cooling system, matching the factory thread and connector for a quick swap.
